2024 Golf Tournament
Sunday, Aug 11th at Minnesota National Golf Course
The 3rd annual Friends of Don golf tournament was an amazing success. We had 31 teams participating and the weather was perfect. The tournament champs were the Mille Lacs crew (Brandon Neisen, Harley Exsted, Grant Exsted & Kelly Piece) with an impressive 17 under. Second place went to the Riverwood team (Lisa Kruse, Travis Spore, Aaron Nordstrom, Todd Moyer), with a 10 under. Congratulations on those great performances.
More importantly the day was a financial success, making over $30,000, which helped us reach our organization’s ultimate goal, which will fund a perpetual scholarship in Don’s name.
The raffle was another success. There were 8 great prizes, and some very happy winners. Prizes and the winners are below:

ALS continues to be a devastating disease, and one that we are committed to fight, in Don's memory!
To date, we have raised over $140,000 and donated nearly $60,000 to ALS support, and over $30,000 in scholarships to McGregor High School graduates. We are also nearing our goal of a fund that will provide perpetual scholarships in Don's name (that means we'll always remember our friend Don. Our operating costs are only 3%, which covers basics for printing, mailing, website fees, etc. All labor required to manage this organization and all that we do is 100% volunteer. Know that your money is being put to effective good use.
We are an IRS 501c3 not-for-profit organization, so donations are tax deductible.

This site was created by the friends of Don Sather to better educate, communicate, and promote our mission of honoring Don Sather and fulfilling his wishes. Please read our MISSION statement for a better understanding of the reasons his friends have started this organization, as well as our goals and objectives.
This organization is comprised of 50+ volunteers who who are friends of Don and the entire Sather family.
We coordinate an annual 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk as the primary fundraising activity to meet our goals.

The Scholarships tab contains information and pictures of the recipients of Don Sather Memorial Scholarship Fund.
